3.3.1   Who was Immanuel Kant?

Kant has been described as being a great BIG BORE! Imagine a person so wrapped up in their work that they have no time for anything else and you're thinking about Kant. Yet his lectures were not boring. The students taking his class arrived at least an hour before the lecture was due to begin, so that they could get a seat.

Kant was born in 1724 in Königsberg which was then part of Germany but is now part of Russia. He lived there all his life, spending his working life at the university while the world around him fell apart. Kant had no interest in either the French Revolution or the American Civil War, which at that time were tearing the world apart.

Kant died in 1804.
